Short Term Missions

Missions TomThere's nothing quite like getting out there into the great wide open and sharing the gospel at the fringes of the world!  The pioneer spirit that took Livingstone to Africa still beats strong in many hearts, and we encourage anyone to take the opportunity to take part in a short term mission at some point in their lives, or even to make it a regular thing!

Whilst we support our members who get involved in numerous missions organisations, there are two areas of mission that are close to our heart and who we count as true partners in the gospel and friends of City Praise Centre.  Over a number of years, our relationship has grown, and we're proud to be in association with them.  They are...

We are thrilled to partner in missions with Overland Missions. Overland Missions is an organization committed to empowering the third world indigenous church and bringing the gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth. Through expedition style missions, they lead teams into locations that would otherwise remain un-reached.

The missions led by Phil & Sharon, are not only making an impact with those involved, their awesome TV show that catalogues their adventures, "Travel the Road" is making a huge difference in lives all over the world.

Carmel Ministries, headed by Pastor Ebenezer Sastry is a ground-breaking mission in Andhra Pradesh, India.  Carmel is a network of almosy 50 churches, working in some of the most difficult and inhospitable areas of the subcontinent.  Their work includes:

      • Church Planting:  In places of tremendous persecution and hardship.
      • Orphanage:  CPC sponsors an increasing number of these destitute kids.
      • Schools:  A number of schools are run in tribal villages.
      • Mission Work:  Taking the gospel into unevangelised areas.
      • Relief Minsitry:  Among the large number of leprosy sufferers.
      • Bible College:  Raising up the next generation of preachers and pastors.

In 2005, Pastors Tom & Gary went to India to work alongside this ministry, holding Crusades, Pastors Conferences and teaching the the Bible College.  In February 2008, they will be returning - and you can be part of the team!  If you're physically fit, mentally tough and spiritually fired up - we'd love to hear from you.  It's not a trip for the faint hearted, but a genuine opportunity to make a real difference!
