Seamen's Outreach

For many thousands of people, life is not lived in the security of a familiar geographical location, but is spent on the ocean, and 'home' comprises of cramped quarters on board the myriad of cargo ships that traverse the seas 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
For over 150 years, the Seamen's Christian Friend Society has reached out to these men and women through the work of Port Missionaries across the world. We are thrilled to partner with SCFS in their ongoing work at Tilbury Docks and along the Lower River Thames, through the work of Fred Merry
Fred (along with his family) is an active member of CPC, and works in a full time capacity for SCFS as a Chaplain, bringing help, care, friendship and the love of Jesus to many of the thousands of people who pass through the port each year.
