Carmel Ministries

We are thrilled to share a partnership in the gospel with Pastor Ebenezer Sastry and his family from Andhra Pradesh in India.  Pastor Ebenezer leads the mighty Carmel Church, which is rapidly transforming the surrounding area, bringing hope and tangable change into the lives of thousands.

Pastors Tom & Ebenezer first met a couple of years ago, and following Pastor Ebenezer's visit to the UK in 2003, a firm friendship has grown as well as an increasing partnership in Christ between the churches. 

In 2005, Pastors Tom & Gary went to India to see the work there, and were bowled over by the amazing things that God is doing.  Currently, each of our PowerTeams is also involved in sponsoring an Orphan or Bible Student at Carmel - lives transformed and rescued to the glory of God.

Amongst other activities, Carmel Ministries is responsible for:

• Church Ministry:  Aside from it's large, central congregation, Carmel Church is responsible for over 50 satellite churches in the outlying villages and towns. His regular Pastors Conferences attract over 300 church leaders; many of whom work in incredibly deprived areas and who often face persecution.  
• Orphanage:  The orphanage cares for many of the children of the area who would otherwise be without home and hope.  Currently over 50 children are having their lives transformed by having proper food, shelter and education, whilst receiving a grounding in the Christian faith. 
• School:  Many of the children of the orphenage are also students at the School which provides a free education to over 220 children, who would otherwise have no opportunity to break free of the poverty that surrounds them.
• Bible School:  Many of the surrounding villages are not easily accessable, and providing Pastors who have a good bible knowledge is a great problem.  Carmel Ministries currently trains dozens of pastors every year at it's Bible School, before sending them to these remote areas to minister.
