Ministry
The word 'Ministry' is a Bible word that literally means 'serving others'. The Christian life is primarily one of service - serving God, serving the church, and serving each other. Mother Theresa of Calcutta once said:
"At the end of our lives, we will not be judged by how many diplomas we received, how much money we have made or how many great things we have done. We will be judged by "I was hungry and you gave me to eat. I was naked and you took me in."
The ministries of CPC are simply ordinary people using the gifts and talents God has given them to help enrich the lives of others. The ministries of CPC are teams that enable the church to operate and run smoothly, creating a place of excellence so that miracles can happen and lives can be transformed. These teams also include teams that reach the further community (although most of these can be found in the next section under missions)
Here are just a handful of the vital teams that serve the church:
- Host Team and Information Point: Welcoming you, assisting your needs for your church experience and not just on Sunday's but throughout the week, serving you with up to the minute information and help.
- Cleaning Team: Keeping the church campus looking clean and ready to host the variety of groups that meet at Base Camp.
- Green Fingers: Keeping the grounds of the church looking fresh and beautiful all year round.
- Nuts & Bolts: The CPC maintenance team - on call to keep practical things running smoothly, from light bulbs to small building works.
These teams are so important, and the awesome people that run them and serve in them are the people that are literally making church happen. Every Christian is called to follow the example of Jesus by serving others - discovering the needs of another human being and becoming the answer to that need. If you would like to know more about any of the above ministries or would like to hear of our other ministries, please do not hesitate to contact the church office where we will be happy to help.
